SOLD (Hungary) - MAXIMILIAN SCHOTT GRAND, VIENNA, 1835

Due to the presence of many prominent composers and performers, Vienna was a city of music. In the first half of the 19th century, Vienna was also the most important city for piano building, next to London and Paris. The 'Viennese pianos' were highly regarded because of their typical sound and touch. The work of about forty piano builders, all producing pianos in the same style, gave rise to the so-called "Viennese school". Maximilian Schott was one of them.
